Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Nebraska
Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
We filed and completed chapter 7 bankruptcy, returned our vehicles to Ford Motor Co. They sold them and we are now getting letters from them that say they are attempting to collect a debt for the remainder of the loans. Can they do that?

Re: Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
If you surrendered vehicles during a successfully discharged Chapter 7, you have no personal liability for any deficiency after your bankruptcy discharge. You should provide creditor with the bankruptcy filing information (case number, filing and discharge dates.) If you get sued, a discharge in bankruptcy is a valid defense.
