Legal Question in Business Law in Nebraska

billing practices

My nephew broke my neighbors window. We are expecting to pay for it. She insisted on using her contractor. They refused to give estimates to us twice and proceded woth the work. Upon recieving the bill, it was not itemized at all. Only a total. Not even a breakdown between labor and parts. We asked immediately for a more detailed bill so we could pay, and instead of responding with it, have charged us interest. We called and they are refusing to give us a more accurate bill.

Are businesses required to give you an accurate bill detailing charges in Nebraska?

What are my recourses. We want to pay the bill, but want to know what we are being billed for knowing that they had to reorder the window three times because of incorrect measuring. We want to insure that we aren't being billed for their mistake.

Re: billing practices

Take their bill to another contractor. If it looks reasonable to the contractor, PAY IT.
