Limited Liability Corporation
What is the personal liability of the owner of a LLC? Are the owner's personal assets liable for the debts of the LLC?

It depends on the debt and how it was acquired. If credit was extended solely to the LLC and owner did not personally guarantee the debt, then the owner is usually not liable personally for the debt. Fraud or failing to sign documents as the manager of the LLC can negate that protection. If you provide personal information to the creditor in order to obtain the credit, it is very common to unintentionally obligate yourself personally for the debt. Be careful and seek the advice of an attorney to avoid a problem later.
