Image Usage Information

I have a sports writing website and would like to use images on there that are availalbe on the internet, what is the legalities behind this?

You will need the written permission of the copyright holder to the photos. This may or may not be the same party who owns the website; usually not. Failure to obtain permission can result in both civil and criminal penalties.
