Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Nebraska

Can I Include Religious Affiliation Question On Job App?

After seeing the way they post on Yahoo and lie about everything to benefit them no matter what the cost to others in America, including using the US military for their Christian Crusade, can I add a question to the job applications for my business regarding religious affiliation?

I do not want to hire any Christian as they are the most deceiptful people on Earth. I would rather hire exconvicts and felons than--name removed--but am afraid I may be violating some mass murderer's rights if I ask their religious affiliation on the job application.

Rapists, thieves, those who condone murder, traitors, liars, and conmen permeate the Christian religion in America and I sure as Hell don't want any of them working for me. Such people are a tremendous liability.

This question is primarily directed at Bible Thumpers, but all religious are delusional fanatics and a tremendous liability.

Can I ask religious affiliation on the job applications I offer at my company and use any false information given on this application as grounds for dismissal should that be necessary?

Thank you.

Re: Can I Include Religious Affiliation Question On Job App?

No. Unless your organization is religious in nature (a synagogue or mosque, for example) so that a candidate's religion is relevant to his/her ability to do the job, you can't ask about applicants' religion nor discriminate against an applicant on that basis.

I don't think legal advice is the kind you need the most. I strongly suggest that you spend some time with some clergy and/or psychologists to discuss your anti-Christian leanings. To generalize about over a billion people just because some have done bad things is both irrational and offensive. And yes, I say the same thing to people who generalize about Muslims, Jews, etc.
