Sexual Harassment - Hostile Work Environment
A close friend of mine recently resigned as the general manager of a company. The resignation was prompted by a male workers confronting her in a hostile manner and stating, in front of several witnesses that ''you only got the job because you're sucking ......'' The employee was devastated and could not continue to work in such an environment. Question: Does the employee have a legal basis for a hostile work environment claim?

It is possible that there is a claim that can be asserted, however, it is necessary to obtain a great deal more information before the claim can be pursued. This is a very complicated area of the law, and is subject to numerous procedural requirments. If you miss one of these procedural requirments, you could loss the entire claim.
My suggestion is that you contact local counsel as soon as possible. Find a person who specializes in hostile work environment claims. Find out how much an initial consultation will cost. Understand that if you do have a successful claim, you can recover attorney's fees as well as damages. However, the issue is too complicated to handle adequately in this forum.
