Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nebraska
Bill collectors
About a year ago I took out a pay day loan on line. I was getting some charges on my account that shouldnt be there. The bank advised me to close the account and deal directly with the legitimate bills. I did that. The pay day loan company would not give me an address to send the money. They just wanted another bank account which I wouldnt give them. About a month ago I was contacted by a collection ageny and agreed to send them $100 and make arrangements. I did that and then they wanted $350 a paycheck which I couldnt do because my pay check is only around $ 475. Now I am getting threatening phone calls at work. They will not accept Less then $400 which I don't have. I have no address and am scared and dont know what to do.

Re: Bill collectors
Contact your state attorney general in writing and explain what happened.
Then, contact an attorney before you pay another cent,--it sounds like you've been scammed, going, coming or both.
I can't believe that it is legal NOT to have a bona fide address, because many state courts are willing to take jurisdiction over fraud cases and at the very least would require the ability to effect service of process.
Authentic businesses always have addresses, even if postal boxes.
The only reason I can imagine they refuse to give an address is that they don't really want to be found.
