Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nebraska

double garnishments

I was wondering if it is legal to have two garnishments in place at one time. I have been paying on one for quite some time. Recently another one went into effect, even though I returned a debtor's response stating that there is already one in place. This garnishment also puts me below poverty level guidelines. I also stated this in my response. The collection attorney called my job's payroll dept. and told them they had to take the money. Is this legal?

Re: double garnishments

You may have remedies under WI law, but with two garnishments pending, what you really need to do in order to solve your problems effectively is to make an appointment with a qualifed bankruptcy lawyer.
