Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nebraska

repo

I financed a car in New Hampshire, then moved to Texas and now I reside in Nebraska. I haven't made a payment for at least a year on my car do to job loss and I still have the car. My question is.. Would it be considered Grand Theft? Could I be in more trouble than I think? I am employed now and am trying to contact the finance company to figure something out. Do you think I could posibly start making payments again and keep the car?

Re: repo

You are in breach of your agreement on the loan in a number of respects. If you can get current, you can likely keep the car, but the car has probably been reported as stolen by the finance company. It wouldn't hurt to have a third party or attorney contact the company first.
