Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nebraska
Animal Cruelty
I found my cat in the neighbor's yard bleeding, face swollen. Neighbor kids, 23 &27, were holding long sticks and laughing about cat getting hurt. Blood spots in the grass where cat was. Humane Society can't do anything due to lack of witnesses. Can I sue in civil court or small claims for vet bills? I know they did and they do too. Thank you

Re: Animal Cruelty
It would probably be a waste of time and money unless you can find a witness. Have you talked to all the neighbors who might have witnessed the incident? If you find a witness, file a complaint with the Humane Society first.
