Re: legal limit

There are no set legal limits for quantity of ephindrine compounds, but there is a system of regulation for its sale. Its posession is banned except for food supplements or drugs for over the counter sale which are manufactured in conformance with state and federal law and regulations. Specifically the concentration and manner of advertisement is limited.

"B) Any dosage form of the food or dietary supplements (i) does not

contain any hydrochloride or sulfate salts of ephedrine alkaloids, (ii)

does not contain more than twenty-five milligrams of ephedrine

alkaloids, and (iii) does not contain ephedrine alkaloids in excess of

five percent of the total capsule weight;"

and is not sold without a proper warning label or with the claim that it promotes alertness, causes a buzz or high, increases muscle mass or sexual performance etc;. See LB113 of 2001.
