Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nebraska

rights/obligations regarding speaking with law enforcement

Police from a previous state I lived in

(not the current state) left me a

voicemail wishing to speak with me.

Am I obligated to return the call and

speak with Police, or can I simply

ignore the voicemails? Can I be

forced to speak with them, give a

statement, or even testify? Also, is

there any liability/legal obligation to

report a rumor/heresay of an alleged

crime? Can I get in trouble for not

reporting a crime I heard/was told

about?

Re: rights/obligations regarding speaking with law enforcement

Get a lawyer. Have him return the call and that ought to end the matter unless the thing they have to make an arrest.

I would be glad to speak to you about this if yo are so inclined. YOu may reach me on the links below.
