videotaping a program
I was told I could not videotape our church's Christmas play (which was written by people in our church) because of the music that was sung in the play. The videotape would be just for us; I am not reproducing it or selling it. Is this true - I can not video tape any kind of entertainment program my child or spouse is in?

They are likely concerned about the permanent recording of Copyright infringement by the public performance of protected work.
