re: 6 mos to wait to remarry

In regards to the answer to this question, if a sovereign individual does not need the government's ''permission'' to marry, why must one accept this imposed time frame?

If a couple wants the rights and benefits conferred by a state to a married couple then they must conform to the rules set forth by the state in order to receive those rights and benefits. In this case, the couple WANTS the marriage to be recognised by the state, so to get the benefit they will have to follow the rules (and time frames) imposed by the state.
