Legal Question in Family Law in Nebraska
child custody
Im a non custodial parent and the custodial parent won't let me see my kid or drop off my christmas presents for her. They say it is in my childs best interest not to know me but I give them child support and i'm not on the birth certificate. tey say they have a private investigator on me and he has me doing drugs and stealing. Will it be hard to win visitation or will i be forced to pay for my daughter without being able to see her?

Re: child custody
The first question is whether you actually were doing drugs and stealing. If so, you need to clear those matters up and/or cease doing them. As far as seeing your child, you have a right to see her. You need to petition the court in a Paternity suit if you are the father. You also need to ask the court to require visitation. However, do NOT stop paying support. The court does not view denial of visitation as a valid reason for not paying support.
You can do this by yourself but it will be much easier to hire an attorney, especially since you are in Sarpy County, which can be tough.
