Re: What is a summary judgment?
A summary judgment occurs when there is no dispute over the facts of a case, and it is readily apparant that a trial is unnecessary. The legal standard in most states is that a summary judgment is appropriate when reasonable minds can reach only one conclusion when reviewing the facts presented in the case.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Re: What is a summary judgment?
Summary judgment is an order of the court that terminates a case prior to a trial. This
can only occur when there is no dispute as to material facts and one party is entitled
to judgment as a matter of law.
