Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Nebraska
Back rent and utilities.
My girlfriend and me broke up, and she moved out and took some of her stuff. She still has some remaining. She has not paid any Rent or any of the Utilities in 7 months, I was wandering what I can do... hold her stuff till she pays or try to sue her, or am I just out of luck on this. We did both sign the lease agreement and now she left while I was at work, so she left on her own free will. Don't know what to do, can you help?

Re: Back rent and utilities.
Best option is to find a new girlfriend who'll share the expenses. Try to get your ex-girlfriend's belongings back to her. You don't have a right to keep them and you could be held responsible if anything is missing or damaged. I don't think you would gain very much by suing your ex-girlfriend.
