Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Nebraska

Can I be accepted to Law school?

I've been losing sleep over this, any information would be greatly appreciated.

Four years ago I was arrested for ''minor'' driving under the influence. I had a BAL of .05. On every law school application it states that I must admit anything that isn't a ''minor'' traffic offense. I realize that the term ''minor'' has two different conotations, but I'm worried that I might never be allowed to practice law.

Will I be rejected based on this stupid thing I did when I was 18?

My GPA is 3.5 and the LSAT is 160. Can I get in or should I just chalk it up to fate and pursue other interests.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Re: Can I be accepted to Law school?

YES, you can be accepted to law school providing you meet the qualifications from an academic standpoint and, perhaps more importantly, be truthful in all respects on your application. If you do not disclose the DUI on your application to law school and it is subsequently found out when you are applying for admission to the bar you may have a problem getting a law license if they feel that you were not candid during your law school years.

Bottom line is to be honest--in all respects with both your prospective law school and board of bar examiners and you should be all set if a DUI is all you have.

Good luck.
