Personal injury settlement

My 18 yr old son was rear ended. the claims adjuster is telling me his

settlement must go into a trust account and held for him until he is 19. the accident was in Ne. and we live in Ia. Is this correct about about the trust account till 19?

Yes that is correct. Minor settlements are generally held until age 19 unless there is a structured settlement annuity. Thank you. J D Haas
