My daughters boyfriend was driving her car and had an accident
My daughters boyfriend was driving her car and had an accident. He was going down an alley with a steep hill and slid on the ice and hit a telephone pole. We have full coverage on the car. We told him he is responsible to pay the $500 deductible. He says he is only half responsible because it wasnt his car. If we have to sue him will the judge rule in our favor? and if so will he have to pay for all the repairs instead of just the deductible? He is willing to pay $250 now but since the accident he dumped my duaghter imagine that. I think he will run out and not pay us anything. The total damage is $2,800.

Re: My daughters boyfriend was driving her car and had an accident
She entrusted the car to him, So long as his used did no go beyond the intened use, she is liable for the acciden. If she had lent him the car and he had driven out of town instead of to the store as she gave permission, she could recover from him for the damage done. Since you don;t mention anything like that, I assume that he was using it with permission. She's stuck unless he was exceding her permission (drag racing on the street for example. Its not worth your time or money to pursue him for payment. The attorney'sY feese will likely be greater than the award and there's no guantee you'll collect either the damages amd less likely you recover attorneys fees and costs. I can appreciate the hurt caused by his unceremonious dumping of your darling daughter, and that's enough to irritate any parent; but chalk it up to a realively cheap way to find out he's a bum and your daughter's best moving on, as are you, for happier days ahead,
