Legal Question in Traffic Law in Nebraska

driving through bus stop signs.

I live in a city where they don't do anything about driving through our bus stop signs these people that don't obey the law and the police, chief, or sherrif won't do anything not even the city council will do anything about this. I was just wondering if you can help me get something done before we have a kid killed or severly injured. I need some resources, my next one is Ben Nelson, the larger on the political bar and my daughter is so mad because she loves my kids (who are in wheelchairs) and wants to go to the president she is so mad. Can somebody please inform me if you know how to get attention from somebody who will do something about this problem.

Re: driving through bus stop signs.

This is more of a political problem than a legal one. It is true that in Nebraska, traffic in both directions and all lanes in an undivided highway, street or road must stop whenever a school bus extends the stop sign.

I suggest that you try to get the attention of the media. Find the place with the most frequent violations in your area, (talk to bus drivers and school officials, even the PTA) and then see if you can get a local TV channel or newspaper to come to that spot for an hour on a school morning to video the violators. Then, go to a politician.

For too many elected officials, no press = no problem.

Good luck
