Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Nebraska

Checking Account Money

My husband had a checking account in his name and died before he had a chance to name me, his wife as beneficiary. We were legally married for over 36 years and lived together at the time of his death which was sudden. What do I need to do to get the money?

What other property did he leave behind? Did he have a will? Does he have any children? You may need to contact a lawyer to open probate. Under certain circumstances, the procedure is simplified for smaller estates.
