What good is filing ch.13 to remove a 2nd Mortgage, if the Lien against the property is not also removed??

Lienestripping
The proceess of lienstripping in Chapter 13 DOES remove the lien and discharges the debt. However, under current law, the lien isn't removed until the Chapter 13 Plan is sucessfully completed.
I am surprised you think that lienstripping doesn't remove the lien, because it certainly does. I know lienstripping sounds too good to be true, but in a Chapter 13, you do pay a price to get this important benefit.
