Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Nevada
Bankruptcy and starting Probate
My husband and I are currently starting a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and we just had his father die. We will be going into probate soon. I read somewhere that the court can seize your assets up to 180 days after the BK is finished. Will we even be done with probate by then (it will be a big one, dividing up a corporation)? Also will the bankruptcy court even know we are involved in a probate case?

Yes the bankruptcy will know and probate will take at least 180 days. You can always file a motion to dismiss the bankruptcy.
