Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Nevada
Bankruptcy
Hi,
I don't have a Will and would like to establish one now.
I'm considering filing for chapter 7 BK, should I wait until that is complete or is it ok to have a Will drawn up now?
Thanks for your time! :)

Re: Bankruptcy
It doesn't matter. I would ask your Chapter 7 bk attorney to do your will and he should give you a discount. Most wills are about one hundred fifty dollars.
Last Will & Testament & Bankruptcy
The most important reason to have a Will is to provide for the care of your family after you are gone. Unless you name a guardian for your children, the Court will speculate how you wish to provide for them. Money is not always the object. The Bankruptcy Court will not get involved with your Last Will and Testament so you may create one any time you like. Be sure to also create a durable power of attorney to authorize someone to make your medical decisions if you are not able to make them for yourself.
Good luck & good question!
