Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Nevada
Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
I have two gas credit cards that I've had since 1987. I've always paid the balance off each month for both. If I file BK will I still be able to keep and use these cards? Thanks for your help! :)

Retaining Gas Credit Cards
I disagree with Jim about the answer to this one. You should NOT TRY TO USE THE CARD WHILE YOUR BANKRUPTCY IS OPEN, and there is no guarantee that the gas card company will continue to offer you credit once your bankruptcy is over. But since you have been a good customer for many years, they may continue to grant you credit after the Bankruptcy is completed.
Why not give the credit department a call and ask if they have someone who can consider your request. Don't expect to hold them to the decision they make today if they should change their mind later on...they always have the right to do this.
