Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Nevada

Creditors

I'am in a chapter 13 and this is my 36 month. When I check my credit report it shows bill that were included in my BK.

I thought thoes bills were wiped out when I filed the Bk. I'am looking at requesting to pay the remaing $12,000.00 of my BK off with a home refinance loan.

Thank You

Roger

Credit Report Woes

Bills are not wiped out in Bankruptcy until the Court issues a discharge. Since you are still in your Chapter 13, those bills still exist and could be collected if your Chapter 13 was not completed.

The Bankruptcy Court system is not responsible for what is on your credit report. Don't think that the debts are going to just disappear from the report because you don't have to legally pay them. Once you receive your discharge, check the credit report again. The debts should then show that they have been discharged in Bankruptcy. If the Discharge is not reported, you can write to each of the 3 major credit bureaus to tell them. I give all my clients a personalized credit repair and rebuilding kit when they receive their Discharge as a way of showing my appreciation for choosing me to be their attorney.
