Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Nevada
Filed Chapter 7 in Nevada.It closed 06/17/2011.Wife has a auto accident settlement that was pending. Informed Trustee of this.How long do we have to disclose this settlement to trustee,like if we hit the lotto or got a inheritance how long can the Trustee collect after bankruptcy close date?I heard one year but not sure.

Filed Chapter 7 in Nevada You only need to disclose pre-petition claims. The one exception is if someone dies within six months after the bankruptcy and leaves you something.
If the auto accident happened before you filed your Chapter 7 was pending then the Trustee may have a claim on the non-exempt portion of your wife's settlement. If the Trustee does not act on or abandon this claim a motion before the bankruptcy Judge can resolve the issue.
