Future Lawsuit as an Asset

I filed bankruptcy Octo 2005 under the old laws. In Nov/Dec 05 I consulted with an attorney about possible med mal suit. In jun 06, the med mal suit was filed. however, was i suppose to include the lawsuit as an asset? Even though it wasnt even filed til 8 months after the bankruptcy was filed?

When you filed the suit is not relevant. It is when you had the claim even though it is a contingency claim before you file.
