Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Nevada
Paying of a Summary Judgement
A collection agency has a summary judgement against me for $33k. The original debt amount was $15k but with interest it's more than doubled to $33k. I believe in a year or so my income should have grown enough to the point where I can begin to make payments. But I'm afraid by that time the debt may be over $50k. Is it likely I could convince them to let me pay back just the initial debt plus attorney's fees? Or will they come after me for the total amount with interest? Am I better off filing for bankruptcy?
