Under NRS 21.090(q), retirement benefits are protected from garnishment or attachment by most creditors. The IRS & child support would be two obvious exceptions.
If you direct deposit your retirement into your bank account, your bankmay not appreciate that the money in your account is protected, so be sure to contact your branch manager to discuss this issue.
Bankruptcy is another way to stop a garnishment or attachment by discharging debts. If you contact my office, my staff & I will be happy to answer any preliminary questions you might have about this legal process.
