Legal Question in Business Law in Nevada

Hotel Over-Charged Me, Want Overdraft Fees Paid

I recently stayed at a hotel in Reno, Nevada and was over-charged 200.00 dollars by them. I have attempted to get the matter resolved for a week, and I informed them that if they didn't return the money to my account promptly, that my account would be overdrawn. I also told them that I had checks out to pay bills that were going to bounce if they didn't fix the matter ASAP. A week has gone by, and I still have not been credited and my account is negative 156 dollars. Are they legally responsible to pay my overdraft fees since they are all the result of their mistake by overcharging me?

I'd say so, but I don't know if the dollar amount would be worth suing over -- especially since you would probably have to do so in a Reno court.

If you used a check card you can call the bank and dispute the charges. This will probably get you at least a temporary credit right away, and it may help resolve the dispute more quickly.
