Can an idea for a project be protected?
I submitted an idea for a rather ambitous project to the Mayor's office in Las Vagas. It involves a Moroccan market created in the downtown redevelopment area of LV. I have been contacted by the ecomomic development head of LV If I cannot find funding for this project how can I protect my idea, and not have someone steal it? Is is possible to patent it? of copyright it?

Re: Can an idea for a project be protected?
Your idea sounds very ambitious. I recommend several steps - a trademark on the state and federal levels for the project's name. Likewise, I recommend a copyright on any marketing material(s), etc. Finally, a patent would be an ideal way to protect your idea, but would be too expensive at this embryonic stage.
