Legal Question in Business Law in Nevada
Legal fee payment
If I were to offer final balance payment to my attorney, whom I have just fired. Can he still hold my files because I owe the co- counsel he brought in for my case. The co- counsel has a separate law firm and was billing me separately which I am under dispute with him.

Re: Legal fee payment
They can but they are asking for a bar complaint and problems with the judge. If you have a legitimate dispute, they should give you the file. As it seems the matter was complicated enough to require not one but two attorneys, you should have your new attorney handle getting the file back. This should be a part of the service an attorney provides.
