Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Nevada

Sexual Discrimination in Upper Management

I applied for an upper management position and given the original job discription, I was the only applicant that qualified for the position. The minimum qualifications were then changed without an interview. And even after the minimum qualifications were changed, I was still the only applicant that met all of the requirements and the only female. Our CEO has now decided not to fill the position and has told me that I am not qualified for the job. Out of all of the applicants, I am the only one to receive a letter indicating that I am not in consideration for the position. Do I have sexual discrimination situation here?

Re: Sexual Discrimination in Upper Management

You could have. It's not easy to tell from the facts of your post, but then management doesn't want it to be easy to tell. You can contact the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and see if they will do a Class C investigation. They are the government agency concerned with sex discrimination. They can be found in the blue pages of your phone book. good luck.
