Ruined wedding

I got married in Las Vegas this past weekend and had a sprinkler head go off in our hotel room 3 hours before the ceremony. My wife (now), Her sister, mother, friend and a professional stylist were getting her ready when the heard a bang and got showered with stingy, stagnet water from the sprinkler head over the entrance door to the room. Nobody was near the head and they did not have anything hanging from the head. They all ran out but ran back in to start grabbing stuff. My wife was shocked twice while trying to retrieve our wedding rings form the desk that apparently the water had shorted out the desk lamp on. The hotel put us in a suite, rented her a replacement dress and provided her a bottle of champagne to try to relax her, she was in tears. Security filed a report to the hotels risk management department and told me to call them Monday when they are open. We flew out sunday night, it is now Monday morning and I am worried they are going to just blow us off. Should I hire a lawyer or see what they offer in compensation?
