Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nevada

I have a charge off debt from Nevada for a second mortgage. My last payment was May 2011. Is there a statue of limitations on how long it can remain on my credit report? I am attempting a settlement but they want current pay stubs and tax return. I'm not comfortable giving this information.

The debt may or may not be enforceable, depending on various facts and circumstances not set forth in the question. If it is not enforceable, there is little reason to "settle" the claim. If it is enforceable, then the settlement agreement should indicate that the creditor agrees to report the debt in language such as "PAID-SETTLED". Your attorney can advise further.
