Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nevada

criminal credit card abuse

Son was in prison, I got a credit card on my account in his name, never gave it to him as upon his release his ways had not changed. While not home he rummaged through my personal belongings, found card, ran up huge debt. I stopped card, am paying off, but problem is he rented a car, has never returned it, he was out on bond on new offense, cannot find him or car. It was due back long ago, what liability do I have??TY

Re: criminal credit card abuse

Did he rent the car before or after you stopped the car. If after, you have no liability. If the card was valid, you would be liable for the charges for the rental but I don't believe that you would be liable for the theft of the car.
