medical bill from 2001

i recived a notice tht i was having a lien placed against my home from a medical bill from 2001 in las vegas, nv is this legal?

If the medical provider sued you and received a judgment, then it is. If it is a hospital, they don't have to sue you but there are time restrictions that they have to meet or the lien will be improper.
