Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nevada

Medical bill/court summons

We received a court summons for a medical debt that we have been making monthly payments on since we first acquired the bill. We contacted the attorney's office that delivered the summons and they were unaware that we have been making payments. When they contacted their client they refused to negotiate or continue payments unless it was half the amount owed (total amount $2700). We are unable to make more than the monthly payments we have previously made and need to file a response for our summons. We need to avoid a judgment being put on our credit report....what advice can you give me??

Re: Medical bill/court summons

apply to the court for cost waiver, file an answer and affirmative defenses, continue to make payments or make a written offer to make payments to pay off the debt.
