Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nevada

Four years ago a Collections Agency sued me over a credit card debt. They won the case and a Summary Judgement was issued against me. My current employer ran a credit check on me and although it had previously been listed on my credit report 6 months ago the judgement amonut wasn't on this most recent report. Is it gone for good? Or was this a mistake? If I start to make payments on my other debts, will it reappear?

Many people do not recognize that there are, basically, three subscription-based credit reporting agencies in America (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion). It is entirely possible that the collection agency only subscribes to one or two of them, and the report pulled by your employer is from one to which no report of the judgment was submitted. Lucky you!

You must know, too, there are a lot of scammers out there - especially all over the Internet - who offer "free" credit reports to check on your status. Be aware that most of them have a little hidden (sometimes costly) agenda, such as forcing you to subscribe to a "credit monitoring" service or something similar. The only place for American consumers to get a TRULY free annual credit report - as now mandated by federal law - is www.AnnualCreditReport.com.

Go there and pull reports from all three major providers to see for yourself just what is on your history.
