Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada
1st time ever
I was arrested for embezzlement $300. I have never been arrested before. I went to court as ordered but the DA had not filed yet and it was reset for 2 more weeks. I was told that since this is a prelimary hearing that I do not get a Lawyer? What usually happens? Does anyone from the DA talk to you and maybe lower the charge as it is my first ever arrest?

They will probably offer you a misdemeanor. I'd recommend getting an attorney to get it dismissed or into diversion.
