Unfortunately, Nevada does not appoint the Public Defender for a misdemeanor unless the prosecutor is seeking jail time which he or she won't on this type of charge. The best bet is to get a private attorney and try to get into a diversion program, e.g., petty larceny school and community service, where the case can eventually be dismissed.
