In Nevada battery is a misdemeanor which means you face up to 6 mos in county jail and a potential fine.

Anytime you ask yourself if you need a lawyer it is generally time to get a lawyer.
A battery charge is something that you should take serious, it could result in jail time and a criminal record.
Speak with a lawyer before the situation gets out of hand.
