extended restraining order
can a new restraing order be added when the current one expires?

Yes, but the Judge has to give you a hearing on the extension application.

Generally, when a restraining order is filed it is granted by the judge on a temporary or 30-day basis with a hearing set to determine whether it should be extended. Check to see if the original order sets a hearing date for a return.
If not, your restraining order is likely expired. In that case, I believe you will need to file for a new order.
