Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada

Federal Restitution questions

Can federal restitution be settled with the DOJ like other debts?

Can this new restitution law (not sure if its passed) can that have someone recharged for not paying restitution?

Are there any lawyers interested in helping me settle this?

Thanks

Re: Federal Restitution questions

Restitution as part of a plea bargain between DOJ attorneys and the federal defendant and his attorney can be negotiated like most other parts of a plea agreement. However, once the restitution amount is adopted by the court and incorporated into its sentencing order, it would no longer be subject to such negotiation. As of now I am not aware of any new federal law governing the issue of restitution which has gone into effect and which would permit new charges to be filed against a defendant who has failed to pay

court-ordered restitution.
