Felony to kick in a door in Nevada...

My son drank too much Tequila and did not remember that he kicked in his girlfriend's door (she was not at home) and broke several things. My son is not that type but knows that he did it because of the glass in his hands. He is very sorry. This happened about a year ago.

Now they have a baby together and are very happy. He drinks very little and NO tequila. He works 10-12 hours a day to make ends meet. He loves the baby and his fiance with all his heart. He helped her out financially when she was pregnant and is paying child support now even though they live together. He provides for the three of them, and plan to get married. After holding the baby, and after he and his girlfriend talked and her mother stayed out of it, they are extremely happy. He is very attentive to the baby and his fiance. He has a court day on Jan. 28th to face charges of a felony. He does not have the money to get an attorney. He is trying sooo hard and then this comes up to bite him. He loves to hunt and fish and will share that with his son when he grows up unless he has a felony against him. His fiance wrote a letter explaining that things are very good. Would it be a good idea for him to plea ''No contest''?

If he cannot afford an attorney he should ask for a public defender. Pleading guilty to a felony under these circumstances would be stupid. You can sugar coat what he did but he will end up an ex-felon who can never carry a guy and be required to register for the rest of his life if he pleads no contest to this charge as a felony.
