Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada

Re-trial 4-5 years post conviction

If someone pleaded guilty to a crime (gross misdemeanor) due to poor counsel, lack of or mis- information, and poor representation on the part of the defense attorney, can they go back 4-5 years post conviction and completion of probation and get a new trial?

Thanks for your posting. You probably would have a better chance expunging a misdemeanor conviction (which you can do after one year), than filing an appeal (which you normally can't do for a plea of guilty), or a motion to withdraw a plea, which has to be done on a much earlier timescale.

You may have only recently discovered poor counsel or "lack of or mis-information", as you put it, but I believe an expungement may get you a dismissal without a new trial, and will be an easier way to get this off your record.
