Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada
Returning stolen item
My teenage son was involved in taking another kids bike. We finally got it out of him that he helped, I contacted the mother and she told me that if we had the bike there within an hour, she would not call the police and report it. We are replacing some of the parts with comparable ones because of some the kids sanded the parts down. Because she has the original parts in her possession, can she still call the police and report it?

Re: Returning stolen item
The crime is stealing the bike. It does not matter what the mother says about dropping charges. It is up to the District Attorney not the mom once it is reported to the police.
