Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada
statute of limitations
I turned myself into the Las Vegas police and was charged with felony theft. I was bailed out and signed a document stating that bail could be used for restitution. Since then the bail has been returned in full stating it was exonerated. I have yet to see a judge for this matter nor have I had any contact with the DA. It's now going on 10 months. How long does the state/county have to bring charges?

The statute of limitations is 3 years. The DA seldom files the charge a year after the alleged crime.
